ESTA’s 2010 awards – call for entries
Leading mobile crane and specialized transport companies are being invited to celebrate their success by entering what is expected to be the biggest-ever ESTA Awards of Excellence.
The awards ceremony and dinner will take place at the Hilton Munich Park Hotel in Munich on Thursday, April 22, 2010, during the Bauma exhibition.
The 2009 event – dubbed the "largest crane and heavy haulage party in Europe" - took place in April in Paris during Intermat, attracting over 450 senior guests from 14 countries and three continents.
The awards dinner is jointly run by ESTA and International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine. ESTA (European Association of Heavy Haulage, Transport and Mobile Cranes) is the pan-European association for national trade associations representing mobile crane rental, heavy haulage and abnormal load transport companies.
This year’s awards have been restructured and will included several new categories, and changes to existing ones.
The full list of categories is as follows:
* Transport job of the Year >120t GVW
* Transport job of the year < 120t GVW
* Crane Job of the Year (telescopic cranes)
* Crane Job of the Year (lattice boom cranes)
* Safety Award
* Innovation and Development Award for End Users
* Innovation and Development Award for Manufacturers
* Combined Techniques Award
* SPMT Job of the Year
In addition, The ESTA Personality of the Year Award has been renamed the Gino Koster Award, in honour of the hugely popular and respected ESTA secretary, who died suddenly earlier this year. The award will commemorate Gino Koster’s work, and his tremendous affection for, and commitment to, this industry.
The deadline for entries to the 2010 awards is January 5, although it might be possible to extend that on application to ESTA.
