IPAF Instructor of the Year
Roy Funk (Hoj Engineering & Sales)
Roy Funk works for Safety First Education & Training, part of the Hoj Engineering group in Salt Lake City, Utah, and leads the organisation’s IPAF/AWPT training activities. Roy was one of the original AWPT Instructors in North America and has been instrumental in progressing the concept of AWPT training there. Described in his citation as being “100% committed to AWPT training”, he has an engineering background and “goes above and beyond the requirements to ensure that his students understand the use and physics of aerial platforms.”
Larry Nancarrow (Skyjack)
Skyjack employee Larry Nancarrow is not long in the access industry or the IPAF training business, but has taken to it with enormous enthusiasm. He coordinates and presents most of Skyjack’s AWPT courses, and makes every attempt to meet the customer’s needs and expectations. According to his nomination, “He is affable and regarded highly by the trainees, and has made great strides in the last two years to become more familiar with this new industry and its requirements. He delivers interesting and informative courses.”
Mauro Potrich (CTE)
Safety and training manager at CTE in Italy, Mauro Potrich has been the driving force behind CTE’s successful operator training business, which is now the largest in Italy. In addition to training the largest number of operators last year, Mauro has also trained more trainers than anyone else and has spearheaded IPAF Italia’s wider efforts to promote operator training in the country. If IPAF needs a training ‘star’ in every country – then there is no doubt that in Italy it is Mauro.
