CTE reorganises production

CTE has announced that in response to the downturn in the market, which began in 2009, and to rationalise the company's aerial work platform sites, part of the B-Lift range of truck mounted platforms will no longer be manufactured at the Bizzocchi plant in Bertinoro, Forli but will be moved to the Sequani plant in Rivoli Veronese, Verona.

The Bertinoro plant will be focusing on aerial platforms of higher technological content, such as the B-Lift High Range (in the 36m to 62m working height) and the B-Fire range of truck mounted fire fighting platforms. These are market segments in which CTE said it has made significant investments over the last few years and acquired a considerable level of technical know-how. All management and sales functions will remain located at the Rovereto headquarters.

CTE said, "We are aware that these decisions will have painful consequences in terms of employment levels in the immediate future, but they are considered absolutely necessary in order to assure the Group's future and to adapt to current market conditions."

The company said that in 2011 it received orders for more than 1000 units and believes that with this reorganisation it can perform better both in the markets where it already operates successfully (Europe, Russia, Middle East, China and Brazil) as well as in the markets where we have just recently started to gain a market presence.
