UK rental company Fork Rent has ordered 600 JCB loadall telescopic handlers as part of its 2012 expansion programme. The order comes hot on the heels of Fork Rent purchasing in excess of 1000 JCB units over the past two years.

The privately owned plant hire company has a fleet of more than 4000 JCB machines, all purchased from JCB dealer Watling JCB. Fork Rent ownes the full range of JCB telescopic handlers from the 515-40 through to the 515-170.

"In the last two years alone, Fork Rent has invested over £40 million [€47 million] in new machinery and purchased 1000 telehandlers through a strong global partnership with JCB", said Guy Nicholls, managing director, Fork Rent.

"The latest investment means that by April 2012 all machines in Fork Rent's fleet will be less than 24 months old".

In addition to investing heavily in its fleet expansion, the rental firm is also moving ahead with plans to construct a new purpose-built national headquarters in Ipswich in addition to a new depot in Hullavington, situated just off the M4 motorway corridor.

The company is also looking for a new location in northern England.
