Easi UpLifts said it has started a "substantial capital investment programme for 2012" and has confirmed orders with JLG and Teupen. Most of the new machines will be based at the company's UK branches.

The Irish-based company said the bulk of the JLG order is for 60 to 80 ft sizes of telescopic and articulated booms but will also include two new 1500 SJ boom lifts, JLG's largest boom lift.

The new units will be added to Easi UpLifts' fleet of large booms and will be available to re-rent to other rental companies.

The company is also expanding its specialised access division, adding Teupen Leo 23 GT and Leo 18GT atrium lifts as well as the 36T model. These will also be part of the re-rental programme.

John Ball, managing director at Easi UpLifts, said the majority of the new machines will be delivered to its UK depots with a small quantity added to the Irish rental business.

Mr Ball confirmed that further investment announcements can be expected over the next few months.
