UK-based rental software company Insphire has established a permanent US sales office, located in Houston, Texas.

The new office is managed by Olly Williamson, Insphire's senior business development manager. Mr Williamson has been joined by a new recruit, Marc Tedeschi, who brings over a decade's experience in rental software sales with RMI Corp.

Insphire already has several customers in the US - including some in the oil and gas sector - but this is its first permanent operation in the country.

Chris Branson, chief executive officer of Insphire, said; "It was the right time, and we are doing it with a very experienced and trusted member of staff."

Insphire, based in Nottingham, UK, is about to enter its fifteenth year of trading, and Mr Branson said business was "going very well for us at the moment." In the past five years the company has doubled its staff to around 50 people and revenues this year will be 17-18% up on 2010.

Mr Branson told IRN that the company has been providing its customers with advice to help them weather the downturn; "We've been able to use our expertise to go in and provide tangible cost benefits for people. That's what we have done in the past three years.

"Our customers need us now more than they have ever needed us before, helping to drive cost savings."

Although revenues at the company are still dominated by the UK - which represents 60% of business - the company has clients in Europe (including Boels Rental in the Netherlands) and Australia, where its software is used by four of the country's five Caterpillar dealers.
