Caterpillar's Hendricks joins UK's Automotive Council

Written by Richard High - 18 Jan 2010

Gwenne Henricks, vice president of Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems and the company's most senior executive in the UK, has been appointed to the recently formed Automotive Council.

The group, established by Lord Mandelson, First Secretary of State, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills, Lord President of the Council, is to focus on the long term strategic challenges facing the UK automotive industry.

Commenting on his appointment Gwenne Henricks said, "I am honoured to represent the construction equipment sector on this important body.

"Caterpillar, the only construction equipment company on the council, is investing for the future on a number of fronts, not least in the creation of low carbon operations and products, therefore contributing to environmental sustainability.

"As a result, we are well placed to contribute to a long-term strategy for this important sector of the UK economy."
