Cherry opens fifth Houston stabilised material plant
Cherry has opened a new state-of-the-art plant to produce stabilised sand and base material, intended to serve customers in northwest Harris County, northern Fort Bend County, Waller County and Montgomery County, an area of significant growth. The new plant will have an annual capacity of 960,000 tonnes and brings to five the number of 'pug mill' plants it operates in the Greater Houston area.
"With the new pug mill plant and our existing Crawford Rd. plant, we have doubled our monthly production capacity to approximately 160,000 tons per month for the northwest region. With the combination of all of our pug mill operations, Cherry is the largest, privately owned stabilized materials company in Texas," said John Conyer, general manager of Cherry's Stabilized Materials Division.
