Patent award for Company Wrench's dual tool
The CP100 Magnet Combo attachment is available on a Komatsu PC270 excavator
Company Wrench has been granted a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its CP100 Magnet Combo demolition attachment. The tool, the subject of an 18 month development programme, consists of a concrete pulveriser that also features a magnet element that allows it to crush reinforced concrete and then extract the rebar from the debris without the need for the operator to leave the cab to change over attachments.
The tool was developed using a LaBounty CP100 pulveriser and an Ohio magnet with a 10 kW generator to produce an attachment with an all-up weight of 3,827 kg (8,419 lb). The patent on the CP100 Magnet Combo runs for 20 years.
It is available from the company on a Komatsu PC270 that has been suitably modified to utilise the tool, and the tool is also available on its own, with Company Wrench saying that any excavator intended to use the tool would require modification if not purchased as a package.
According to Company Wrench owner Brad Hutchinson: "We finally have a product where one operator can sit safely in the seat of the machine. They can pulverize the concrete and mag the rebar. They don't need to leave the safety of the excavator cab and stay out of harm's way."
