Growing support for Intermat Middle East

Organisers of the Intermat Middle East exhibition report growing support for the fledgling show. The second show takes place from 8 to 10 October, 2012, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Exhibitors recently signed up for the event include: Putzmeister, ZYRAXES, Abu Amer Equipment, Miller UK, WireCo World, Erkat, Liebherr, Gidroprivod,Terex Finlay, Atlas-Copco, ELSA, Manitowoc, Liugong, Robit Rocktools, Ramtec Robi, Sennebogen, Goldhofer, Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik, Kanoo - Bobcat, T.G.S, Beco, Al Naboodah, Techking Tires, Blastrac and SK Solutions.

Intermat exhibition director Maryvonne Lanoë said, "The level of opportunity in the Middle East with regards to construction, infrastructure and manufacturing are greatly acknowledged and appreciated by investors."

To highlight the event, there was a special Intermat Middle East day at the recent Intermat exhibition in Paris. The day was attended by His Excellency Mohamed Meer Abdalla Al Raeesi, the French Ambassador to the UAE, members of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED), the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), and key buyers from the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Delegates at the day's events were told of the many opportunities in the region including the US$ 27 billion Saadiyat Island development off the coast of Abu Dhabi and the US$ 11 billion Etihad Rail project in the UAE.

Other large projects in the region include the US$ 91 billion 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as well as the US$ 40 billion Sundair City Development in Saudi Arabia.
