Interesting point and I see what you mean but I think that the economic and operational argument or rationale behid this new crane's concept is different or has another angle. Any tractor unit can be used to haul the crane on the road so the crane is cheaper to buy and to run as it does not need the expense of a dedicated tractor or other set of motive power components. The tractor leaves the crane on site and goes off to work other duties. If the crane needs to reposition on site, this could be done using equipment that is already on many sites, for example, a telehandler.
