Written by Euan Youdale - 23 Jan 2012

Boom Logistics (Boom) has won a five year contract to provide crane services to to BHP Billiton's Olympic Dam operation in South Australia.

Located 550 km northwest of the city of Adelaide, Olympic Dam is a mining area producing copper, uranium, gold and silver.

A Boom spokesman said the successful bid followed a competitive tender process and represented a new business opportunity for the crane logistics and services company.

The deal, however, is still conditional on Boom and BHP Billiton reaching agreement on detailed terms and conditions, added the company.
