LCM Systems enjoys output growth

UK load cell manufacturer LCM Systems has reported a 15% growth in figures for the 2011 financial year, compared to 2010.

The Isle of Wight-based company saw a steady increase in output through 2011, bucking the national trend, which saw a slowdown in output from the manufacturing sector.

Managing director, Steve Sargeant puts the company's growth down to being able to convert orders that need a quick turnaround.

"With budgets tight, many companies are waiting until the last minute to order their load cells, so they can hold on to their cash for longer. This means we are often presented with very short deadlines. Handling the manufacturing here in the UK enables us to keep a close track on all throughput," Mr Sargeant said.

LCM Systems has seen an increase in orders for custom-made products.

Further growth is forecast for LCM Systems in 2012. A factory extension was completed in 2011, allowing the most popular load cells to be available from stock.
