Maxim expands Terex tower fleet
Maxim Cranes has added two new Terex SK575-32 hammerhead tower cranes to its fleet
USA-based crane rental and sales company Maxim Crane is the first customer to purchase the new range of Terex tower crane transfer masts. The company has four new transfer masts, the HD23-TS212, HD23-TS23, TS23-H20 and TS23-TS21.
The transfer masts connect two tower crane systems from Terex, Terex Peiner and Terex Comedil cranes to form a new tower system. The connecting sections allow crane companies to combine flat top, luffing jib and hammerhead tower segments.
Maxim Crane operates 100 tower cranes, all Terex. The company has nearly 1,000 tower sections for its 300 to 400 tonne-metre class hammerhead cranes and 150 segments for its 500 tonne-metre units. Maxim has also made a significant investment in 80 tower sections to cover its four luffing jib and flat top cranes for high rise projects.
A recent purchase of two new Terex SK575-32 hammerhead tower cranes also enabled Maxim to use both the transfer masts and unused heavy duty tower segments.
The new hammerhead cranes were quickly put to work constructing a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 550,000 square foot (167,000 square metre) Mercy West Hospital expansion covers 60 acres (24 hectares).
