Australian crane sales and service company RMB Service Group has been appointed as Manitowoc dealer for South Australia and the Northern Territories. The engagement is Manitowoc's first dealer appointment in Australia in 10 years.

The company will represent Manitowoc crawler cranes, Grove mobile cranes and National Crane boom trucks in the two Australian states.

RMB sees opportunity for crawler crane sales in Australia, particularly the Manitowoc 16000 with wind attachment for South Australia, where wind farms are under development. The oil and gas industries also offer good potential, especially for sales of Grove rough terrain cranes, said RMB.

In addition, the mining industry in South Australia and new gas projects in the Northern Territories offer further opportunities for rough terrain cranes, according to RMB.

Cheryl Woodhart, general manager of the company, will head up the Manitowoc sales team. She is a board director for the Crane Industry Council of Australia and president of the South Australian Crane Association.
