World Demolition Summit and Awards organiser Demolition & Recycling International magazine is delighted to announce that the high profile panel of judges who decided the 2015 award winners are back together again for this year’s event.

With close to 300 years working in the demolition industry between them, the eight members of the judging panel have a wealth of experience that will be invaluable in a keenly contested awards process.

It’s a line up that includes current and past presidents of the European Demolition Association, National Federation of Demolition Contractors, and the Institute of Demolition Engineers.

And in a year when the event is being organised in co-operation with the US National Demolition Association, it’s fitting that former NDA president Bill Moore will once again be helping to choose some of the winners.

These are the people who hold the fate of this year’s entrants in their hands:

Henrik Bonnesen, Cowi, Denmark

Experienced auditor and site inspector who has been EHS Manager on several projects regarding major construction sites and was heavily involved in developing an audit system and training staff for the Danish Demolition Association.

Dan Costello, Costello Dismantling Company, USA

The owner of Costello Dismantling is a past member of the NDA Board of Directors and currently sits on the association’s Environmental Committee.

Pilar de la Cruz, EDA past president, Spain

Past president of the European Demolition Association and a member of the EDA Club of Honor, Pilar started her career in demolition in 1992.

Clinton Dick, Liberty Industrial, Australia

The founding director of Australia’s leading industrial deconstruction company is a highly sought after demolition and technical closure expert.

Patrick Frye, Cardem, France

Involved in the demolition industry for 30 years and currently in charge of Cardem’s major projects.

Bill Moore, ERM, USA

Bill spent 25 years at Brandenburg Services in variety of roles and now works as a consultant with international remediation specialist ERM.

William Sinclair, Safedem, United Kingdom

Fourth generation demolition man who became president of the European Demolition Association in June 2016. His company Safedem has demolished dozens of tower blocks and industrial structures.

John Woodward, C&D Consultancy, United Kingdom

John set up C&D in 2005 after a career in demolition. In 2015 he became the first person from the demolition industry to win the Institute of Construction Management’s award of Construction Manager of the Year.

The overall group of eight judges will be split into smaller groups to judge each individual category, and no judge will be given a category where his or her company has entered for the awards.
