According to Gary Major, Director of LiuGong’s Industrial Design, “Visibility, operator comfort and ergonomics were quickly identified as the key areas of focus along with blade articulation and maneuverability.”

The machine boasts 324° panoramic visibility due to its newly designed five-post cab that has a single C-pillar and was also said to set the benchmark for operator comfort and efficiency. New impact-resistant materials have also been introduced to provide better weight distribution and increased recyclability. Furthermore, access for routine maintenance has also been improved to reduce downtime.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 2019, designers and manufacturers from 55 countries entered more than 5,500 products for the competition.
