Global construction equipment sales are expected to fall 19% this year from the 2018-2019 peak of 1.1 million machines to 891,000 units, according to revised forecasts from market research and forecasting company, Off-Highway Research.

Off-Highway Research’s managing director, Chris Sleight, talks to International Construction’s Andy Brown in more detail about this revised forecast.

Sleight explains why this fall of 19% is not evenly spread around the world, which markets are expected to perform better and worse than others, as well as which segments of construction equipment are expected to be the most affected in terms of sales.

The podcast also looks ahead to how Covid-19 may impact the world of construction in the longer-term.
