Among the different topics, and after having presented the findings of the ERA strategic review, especially those impacting the Technical Committee, Martin Sebestyen, the chairman of the Committee, reported on the works of the Committee on training and telematics.

Andrew Delahunt, from IPAF, described the works done by IPAF on telematics. Frank Dahlhoff, from the German company Sitech, presented on the job site of the future with BIM and Claudio Fiorentini, from JCB, gave an update on the emission standards and on Stage V more specifically.

The committee also reviewed the outcomes of the technical workshop at the last ERA Convention. The questions asked to the groups during the workshop dealt with the rental equipment needs of our customers in the future and with Big Data and the relation between owner and OEMs.

The Committee also reviewed the introduction of topics that could be of interest for the members of this working group in the future.

The day before, a round of face-to-face meetings was organised. Twelve construction and access equipment manufacturers were invited to participate. The face-to-face meetings usually gather four to five fleet managers of rental companies and representatives of one manufacturer. During 90 minutes, they can discuss the different topics proposed by the rental companies. The content of those face-to-face meetings is confidential and the OEMs and the rental companies sign a non-disclosure agreement before each meeting.
