Power Climber Wind, a division of SafeWorks, LLC, has developed an access platform specifically for wind turbine blade and tower maintenance. The new model is CE-compliant and is based on the version made for North America, which Power Climber Wind said, "has racked up hundreds of operating hours."

The CE 360° platform is modular, stable and quick to install. It is designed to be easily configured to meet the access needs of tower work with minor changes to the components. Its small footprint makes it easy to transport inside a standard work truck: reducing the total mobilisation cost. The 360° blade access platform is said to be compatible with all major wind turbine manufacturers.

It is solidly connected to the tower and can be easily repositioned. The platform provides a stable working deck without requiring counterweights and Power Climber said that it can improve workers' confidence and productivity. The design adapts to various blade profiles and sizes.

Ruben Bake, vice president and general manager of Power Climber said, "Known for our innovative solutions in 65 years of working closely with owners and contractors, we understand that wind farm owners and operators share common problems worldwide. Achieving simple, practical, safe and cost-effective access is critical. The modular platform solution solves this problem with a proven product that is cost-effective and above all easily deployed to the site."
