Speedy places big order for Custom's Equipment's new 8ft scissors
At The Rental Show held in Orlando Florida on 8 to 10 February, UK rental company Speedy plc confirmed an order for Custom Equipment's new 8ft (2.4 m) platform height Hy-Brid scissor lifts. The order, which was placed with Custom Equipment's UK distributor to r2 Access, is said to be worth a seven figure sum and is for products to work alongside the Hy-Brid 1030 scissors the company bought last year

Terex AWP boosts aftersales support

Added safety when working on containers
UK company Planet Platforms has developed some enhancements to its SAFEpost anchoring system, which helps arrest falls from portable buildings or containers. The post is assembled at ground level prior to being fixed to the jackleg of the portable building or container, if work needs to be carried out on the side or roof of the container the worker can attach an inertia lanyard to the post protecting from falls, even at low levels.

Over twenty five years of access expertise
Mr Shaughnessy's experience with access equipment began at his father's hire company, having completed his post graduate degree at Nottingham University, he returned home to Boston to run the newly formed access rental business, which was an offshoot of the family's general rental business. After a couple of years, in 1978, Mr Shaughnessy went to work at British Telecom, returning to the family access rental business after eight years. By 1998 the company had grown substantially and was running 1500 machines from five depots.

Powerlift takes on ATN range
UK access platform distributor Powerlift was showing an ATN Piaf 810 tracked, vertical mast machine with jib at the Executive Hire Show held in the first week of February. Powerlift added the ATN range of equipment to its offering in January and will sell the complete range, which includes the Piaf machines and the Zebra articulated boom with a scissor range anticipated.
