Tanfield poised for a good 2012
The 2011 end of year results for Tanfield, Snorkel's parent company, indicate that 2012 will be the year the company enjoys an upturn in business. At the end of 2011 the company's order book was up 296% (to £30.5 million) compared to the same time in 2010 and although Tanfield enjoyed an 11% increase in turnover (£48.3 million) compared to 2010, the company still made an operating loss of £14.99 million although this was reduced by 5% from the 2010 figures.
Aggreko wins US$80m Dominican Republic contract
Aggreko has won a two-year, 100 MW gas powered generation contract worth US$80 million in the Dominican Republic. It has also announced that projected rental revenues from the London Olympics this summer will be around £50 million.

Genie to introduce anti-crushing system for booms
Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) is introducing an anti-crushing system for its Genie booms at Intermat, April 16-21 in Paris, France. The Operator Protective Structure (OPS) prototype is an optional device for installation on articulating or telescopic boom lifts and provides secondary protection for operators in the event of contact with an overhead obstacle in certain applications. The new OPS prototype may be viewed at Intermat in stand E5 C002.
