Eagle Platforms has been chosen to deliver safety training and access equipment for the construction of an ambitious zero emission bio power plant at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
The facility will provide energy for around 50,000 homes once fully operational. The current scheme is one of a number of projects in Brigg, Snetterton, Cramlington and Widnes, at which Eagle Platforms has provided such services.
The skills imparted through Jamie Fleetwood, training manager at the Anston, Sheffield–based company, as well as the working at height equipment, will enable managers and employees on the large site to carry out work safely and efficiently, helping to complete the project in a timely fashion.
Set to be completed by the end of 2021, the Hooton Bio Power Plant will transform around 240,000 tonnes of residual municipal solid waste each year into 25.2 MW of electricity, using proven Kobelco technology.

The scheme is the latest milestone in Eagle Platforms’ dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The company recently invested more than £1.5m in new Stage 5 zero carbon emission Deutz diesel engines for its growing fleet of big booms, as it seeks a greener future for the business.
In addition, the company has promised to eradicate paper documents wherever possible by making use of digital channels and is committed to sustainable waste management through the large-scale recycling of company waste, paper, plastic and metals.
