Lorentsens to retire from Omme

The owners and directors of Danish tracked platform manufacturer Omme Lift Harry Lorentsen and Torben Lorentsen are set to retire.
A new managing director, Axel Thøgersen, has been appointed ahead of the pair’s phased move into retirement. Thøgersen aged 47, comes from a leading position at engine Cooling and climate solutions company Nissens and previously worked for Grundfos, which manufactures similar products. The will take on the role on 16 April 2018.
The move represents a major step for the company. For 112 years the managing director has been a Lorentsen. While this tradition will be discontinued, the Lorentsen ownership and representation in the company will remain.
Harry Lorentsen will continue as area sales manager for Germany and the Netherlands until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition for Thøgersen. After that he will remain with the Omme management in Germany.
Torben Lorentsen will also gradually step down from daily management. He will continue as area sales manager for France, Norway and Sweden until 2020. From 2020 he will remain on the board of directors and as part of the Omme Lift team in France.
Thøgersen says, “Becoming a part of Omme Lift and being able to build on the strong foundation that Harry, Torben and the organisation have created is a fantastic opportunity. I look forward to develop Omme Lift further together with its many committed employees.”
