Longtime founder is retiring and has sold the business to two employees

Landmark Equipment has announced a change in ownership. Serving material handling customers in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and northern California, Landmark Equipment has sold and serviced the Pettibone Cary-Lift product line for more than 30 years, and now also carries Pettibone Extendo and Traverse telehandlers.

The dealership was originally established in 1984 under the name Parts Company Northwest by Earl Rund and his partners, becoming Landmark Equipment in 1993. The sole owner since 2006, Rund is retiring and has sold Landmark Equipment to long-term employees John Gunderson (29 years at Landmark as a field technician and shop foreman) and Rick Nivens (25 years as shop foreman and service manager).

“It’s a pleasure for all of us at Pettibone to continue our amazing partnership with Landmark Equipment into the next generation of ownership,” said Kyle Rubin, director of sales and marketing for Pettibone. “Earl Rund has been a tremendous part of our dealer team for more than three decades, and we look forward to the next chapter at Landmark under John and Rick’s leadership.”

“Rick and I, along with our many experienced team members, are very excited to continue the proud tradition of Landmark Equipment while providing a great product like Pettibone to the Northwest market,” said Gunderson. “We are extremely grateful to Earl for everything he’s done for Landmark. His love of talking with and helping customers, along with his vast knowledge of parts and equipment, has been a huge asset and we wish him well in retirement.”
