Maes Hoogwerkers in Belgium is pioneering the rental of dedicated fire fighting aerial platforms in Europe. The company has already rented one 27 m Bronto machine to a fire brigade in Malle, Belgium, and in June will add a 90 m Bronto lift – the world's highest dedicated fire fighting access platform-to its fire fighting fleet
US equipment broker John Lynch is selling 4000 used aerial platforms valued at around US$10 million (⋹7.6 million) on behalf of some of the biggest rental companies in North America. The lifts, which mainly date from between 1996 and 1998, include booms and scissors from big name manufacturers like JLG, Genie and Skyjack.
Danish platform manufacturers Denka Lift and E Falck Schmidt have merged to form Worldlift Industries AS. Denka Lift's owner, Danish investment firm VT Holding, has acquired the aerial platform business of E Falck Schmidt, combined the two businesses and appointed Michael Falck Schmidt, the former managing director of E Falck Schmidt, as head of the new company.
