Excavator sales growth in France

Excavator sales growth across French regions

CISMA, the French association of equipment manufacturers, has reported strong growth in the sales of crawler excavators in France, over the first four months of 2019.

Across all weight classes, the French market saw an upturn in sales of 4%, compared with the same period in 2018.

While all classes of crawler excavator saw growth, the strongest performance was seen in those between 6 and 12 tonnes, with sales up by 16%.

More than 800 machines over 12 tonnes were also sold during the period, accounting for a 7% rise in the French market.

The impressive growth in excavator sales has been largely attributed to the ongoing Grand Paris project – rapid transport lines under construction in Île-de-France – with this region alone accounting for more than 15% of the total sales market.

CISMA reports that investment in this project is expected to grow throughout this year and into 2020, increasing the likelihood of further growth in excavator sales.
