Markku Simula has been appointed as president of Finland-based Metso’s aggregates business.
It is one of a trio of appointments as the company continues to reorganise, with Mikko Keto taking up an equivalent position in minerals services and Sami Takaluoma becoming president, minerals consumables.
He will take up the post on January 1, reporting to company president and CEO Nico Delvaux. Aggregates equipment will be one of seven business areas in the new set up.
“The fundamentals of our strategy and business portfolio remain the same, and our vision is valid,” said Nico Delvaux.
“We will implement an organisational structure, where businesses are built around similar customer, competitive and business dynamics. This will enable a more focused and agile organisation.”
Markku, who has been with Metso for more than 25 years, has worked as senior vice president, aggregates business line and a member of the minerals capital business area management team since January 2016.
Before that, he was part of the flow control management team from 2014 to 2015 and automation management from 2008 to 2014.
Between 1991 and 2008, he held various managerial positions based in Finland, USA and France
