Terex Trucks has appointed Babcock International to distribute its rigid and articulated haulers in southern Africa.

Babcock will also provide parts and aftermarket support, while Terex will offer technician training to the Babcock team, as well as a range of technical resources.

Babcock has already purchased six TR100s, three TR60s and four TA300s from Terex, for its initial stock holding, as well as a substantial parts holding.

Paul Douglas, director and general manager of Terex Trucks, said, “We are impressed with the commitment to customer satisfaction and customer support that Babcock embraces.”

Babcock has recently opened a branch in Middelburg, South Africa, which will become the head office for Terex Trucks in the region. The branch was designed with a view to housing articulated and rigid dump trucks the size of the Terex TR100.

Roger O’Callaghan, CEO-Africa, Babcock International, said, “Babcock is very excited to incorporate Terex Trucks into our current portfolio. We believe the additional products complement our existing range and give us an opportunity to provide new customers with the Babcock ‘trusted to deliver’ service.
