Atlas Copco says its new generation of bucket crushers at this year’s Bauma offer up to 80% higher output than previous models.
The BC 2500 and BC3700 machines are designed for carriers from 22-38 tonnes, and for small demolition, recycling and road construction applications, where they are proposed as an alternative to a mobile jaw crusher.
Capable of crushing up to 110 tph, the bucket crushers have a high level of flexibility in terms of operating reach.
With an advanced twin-drive system from two hydraulic motors and a sturdy timing belt, the system provides powerful torque and constant power transmission.
The new BC bucket crushers also feature an automatic anti-lock mechanism, continuously repositioning the material, meaning even large pieces are automatically guided towards the crushing jaw. Also, if material becomes jammed, the reverse function allows the operator to change the direction of rotation, pushing the material back into the inlet to remove the blockage.
Atlas Copco will also launch its FlexiROC T20 R drill rig at Bauma, promoting it as the most versatile version on the market within the 38-64 mm-hole range.
The rig can drill underground as well as on the surface, as well as at any angle, and features a high-powered rock drill.
It has a completely new rig control system as well as Radio Remote Control (RRC), and its compact design assists transportation between locations and set-up in confined spaces.

The FlexiROC T20 R has a boom reach of 4 250 mm through a 90° radius which gives more holes from fewer set-ups in tasks such as foundation drilling, trenching and various tunneling operations.
Other upgrades include a new cylinder feed (BMH 2000) in three lengths (for 8, 10 and 12 ft rods), a new reinforced drill steel support, a front-facing feed holder and an easily accessible service access point.
Atlas Copco says the rig’s 14 kW COP 1435 rock drill, combined with a smooth cylinder feed action, provides almost 30% more impact energy and torque, boosting drilling performance by up to 40%.
Among those on show will be Komatsu’s PC490LC-10 high reach excavator. The latest addition to the company’s successful demolition range, it will be presented with a new adjustable undercarriage. The excavator itself was first shown at Intermat in Paris last year, and it received the 2015 Innovation of the Year Award from the United Kingdom-based National Federation of Demolition Contractors.
The machine’s stability is enhanced by the hydraulically adjustable wide gauge undercarriage, which features longer trackframes that the standard undercarriage. Including 700 mm (27.6 in) triple grouser shoes, the width of the new adjustable undercarriage can be varied from 4,000 mm (13 ft 1 in) to 3,000 mm (9 ft 10 in), improving ease of transport where width restrictions apply. When specified with the new undercarriage, the machine’s operating weight is increased to just over 70 t.
“We are delighted that the machine has already been acknowledged by the industry,” said Simon Saunders, product manager for working gear excavators.
With a total of nine exhibits, Kleemann, part of the Wirtgen group, claims to be showcasing its entire competence in the field of mobile crushers and screens.
The new Mobicone MCO 11 PRO cone crusher, said to be a world’s first, was developed for high-performance use in processing natural stone.
Claiming that it marked the start of its newly-developed PRO Line, Kleemann said the new line offered the quarry operator particularly robust plants for high-performance applications.
The manufacturer is also presenting a cross-section from its EVO range of machines for flexible use at changing locations. It said they were characterised by their easy transportability, short setup times and low fuel consumption, with high performance at the same time.
Kleemann also builds rugged machines for the first crushing stage, and visitors will be able to see the Mobicat MC 125 RR jaw crusher – the largest exhibit from Kleemann at this year’s show.
Two screens – Mobiscreen MS 15 Z and MS 16D – round off the Kleemann portfolio. Both screening plants handle applications in natural stone and recycling.
In combination with the MC 110 and the MCO 9 EVO, the MS 16 D is said to function optimally and deliver excellent results.
SBM is exhibiting its newly-developed STE 100.60 jaw crusher for stone and recycling material, claiming optimised processes for various applications with limestone, granite, recycling of construction rubble and slag.
It said the new gap release control system avoided damage to the crusher as well as unnecessary repair times and down times. The STE 100.60 masters feed sizes with dimensions up to 950mm x 550mm at a throughput capacity up to 200 tonnes/h, which can be processed to a final grain size 0/32mm up to 0/200mm.
For the first time, SBM will present its new SMR 13/7/4 impact crusher. It said the new and larger SMR 13/13/4 belonged to this series expansion as well. Secondary and tertiary crushing of natural stones for the recycling and asphalt industry are the main application areas for this intelligent SMR crushing system.
The new SMR 13/7/4 has a crusher width of 700mm, and material with a feed size of up to 200mm can be fed to the crusher. With a drive performance of up to 160kW, it claims a maximum average crushing capacity of 150 tonnes/h.
SBM will also present its new generation of vertical impact crusher rotors. It said the V8 vertical impact crusher type, as well as the bigger model V10, could easily be upgraded with the new rotor, “resulting in clear economic advantages”.
It added that the mounting protective cast armour plates at the upper and lower sides of the rotor mean the service life of the rotor body could be prolonged by at least three times in comparison to the old version.
A new mobile impact crusher is being launched by SBM, enlarging the series REMAX series. It said the new plant had to be compact, efficient and powerful. The track-mounted plant weighs 29.8 tonnes (without options) and belongs to the compact class of the REMAX series. Total weight including the secondary screening unit comes to 34.5 tonnes, and SBM said that its ideal mean that it could be transported simply and easily.
The standard hopper size is 3.3m³. Hydraulically folding hopper sides to make the hopper even higher can be operated and locked from the ground and increase the hopper volume to 6m³.
SBM was acquired by the MFL Group some years ago. According to its manufacturer, the heart of the REMAX is the RCI 11/11/4 impact crusher. The impact crusher with a rotor diameter of 1,100mm and a system width of 1,100mm has been developed from the best of both the SBM and MFL brands, it said.
In the crusher, there are two pre-stressed impact toggles with overload protection by sturdy steel springs and a hydraulically supported gap adjustment. The newly-developed rotor is equipped with four impact bars.
Celebrating a significant milestone at Bauma is Swedish manufacturer Brokk. This year is the 40th anniversary of the company starting up. Since 1976, it has gone on to supply more than 6,000 demolition robots to more than 100 countries around the world. The company said that what started as a niche market for very special requirements is now a mainstream, and vital, part of most demolition, process, cement, nuclear decommissioning and underground projects worldwide.
Belgium-based company Keestrack – which itself celebrates 20 years since the manufacture of its first in-house developed product during 2016 – will show a cross-section of its product range in the form of six crushing and screening units used in mobile processing technology for recycling applications.
At Bauma, Keestrack will be showing proven mobile crushers as well as new high-capacity large scale models, all now under new names as the company looks towards the next stage of its development.
These range from the B2 jaw crusher and R4 crusher unit – previously the Argo and Destroyer 1011 – to the R8 top crusher unti formerly known as the Destroyer 1313. Also on show will be the track-mounted H4 cone crusher, which the company described as the first of its kind in the world.
Exhibiting at Bauma for the second time, BAV Crushers’ stand will feature examples of attachments for carrier excavators, based on 3 to 6 t operating weight, from the core product range of Alligator jaw pulverisers, CB crusher buckets and RS rotary screening buckets.
According to BAV, the crusher buckets in particular were a huge success in 2015.
“You know when you have a good product; it goes out of the door quickly and you never hear of any problems with it. A truly great product however, is one where every single customer goes out of their way to get in touch and offer positive feedback. This is what our engineers have achieved with the CB2,” the company said.
CDE Global is exhibiting at Bauma for the third time and this year will include some significant product developments.
“Bauma is recognised as the leading global platform for launching new products to our industry and we have been planning for this year’s show since 2013” said Kevin Vallelly, product development manager with CDE Global.
“A number of product development cycles will conclude with new product launches at Bauma as we further expand the range of equipment we offer the sand and aggregates, construction and demolition waste recycling, mining and environmental sectors.”
This year, CDE has a 1,200 sq m (12,916 sq ft) stand and will be showing the latest version of its M2500 mobile washing plant, a standalone EvoWash sand washing plant, and new inclined screens from the Infinity range.
