Paris awards: 15 February deadline for 2013 European Rental Awards

12 November 2012

Next year’s European Rental Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday 15 May in Paris, France. Here, we provide all the information you need to enter the awards.

As we approach the end of 2012 we again urge all rental companies and equipment suppliers operating in Europe to consider entering the next European Rental Awards.

The 2013 awards ceremony will again be held during the European Rental Association’s annual convention, which in 2013 takes place at the Palais des Congrès de Paris venue in Paris, close to Porte Maillot.

The awards dinner will take place either at the congress centre or at the adjoining Hotel Concorde La Fayette – the two venues are linked by internal walkways. (Even if the Concorde La Fayette does not host the dinner it will still be the official hotel for the awards and convention, with ERA arranging discounted rates for delegates.

The deadline for entries is Friday 15 February.

Very soon you will be able to find all the award details, including the downloadable Entry Form, at www.khl.com/rentalawards. In summary, the four categories are as follows:

• Large Rental Company of the Year (turnover over €15 million)

• Small/Mid-sized Rental Company of the Year (turnover under €15 million)

• Rental Product of the Year (for product launched during 2011)

• Rental Person of the Year

In addition, the judging panel may present a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The awards are open to any company operating in Europe, and companies do not have to be members of ERA to enter. Companies should submit their own entry forms - you do not need to be nominated by another company or individual.

We remind companies that the awards are designed to recognize outstanding performance during 2012.

The awards - a joint venture between International Rental News (IRN) and the ERA - celebrate the best performers in the sector, with past winners including Kiloutou, Ramirent, Cramo, Bredenoord, GAP Plant, Speedy Hire and Industrial Access.

We look forward to receiving your entries.

Award Criteria

The awards are judged on what companies or individuals accomplished in 2012.

Rental Company of the Year (turnover above €15 million)
Can you demonstrate an excellent and improving performance in your business in 2012? For example, how have you improved your levels of customer service? Are the training needs of your employees being met, and what investment have you made in your fleet? How are you performing financially? Did you make important initiatives in 2012 that were successful?

Small & Mid-Sized Rental Company of the Year (turnover under €15 million)
Same as above.

Rental Product of the Year
Has your company offered rental companies a truly innovative product during 2012? Has it created a genuinely new rental market, or significantly enhanced an existing rental sector, and has it been taken up successfully by rental companies in Europe? The award applies to products introduced during 2012 and is open to any supplier that is selling its products in Europe.

The ERA/IRN Rental Person of the Year
This award will recognize an outstanding contribution to Europe’s rental industry in 2012. The award may recognize a significant performance in any one of a number of areas, including safety, sales, operations, fleet management, etc. If you have an employee who has performed superbly in 2012, and who would be deserving of Europe-wide recognition, then let us know.
