Terex Construction America has introduced a redesigned material handler in the shape of the Fuchs MHL 340D, which offers higher reach, both vertically and horizontally, and faster cycle times. This has been achieved through a larger undercarriage, improved boom kinematics and the use of a two circuit hydraulic system that minimise power dissipation to maximise performance.

Power comes from a Deutz 171 hp (128 kW) Tier III compliant turbocharged diesel that provides 12% more horsepow over its predecessor, and provides noise reduction of 3dbA. A load–sensing control system protects against overload and bogging down, ensuring peak engine performance in every speed range.

The MHL 340D weighs in at 27.6 29 tonnes, depending on configuration the new boom and stick designs have been engineered for maximum lifting capacity two configurations are available to provide reach 26.6 m(41.4 ft) and 13.7 m (45 ft). The undercarriage includes larger outrigger cylinders and wider stailiser support beams to provide greater stability, and the machine is also designed with increased pivottorque that allows it to reach full turning speed more quickly.
