Topkran enhances fleet with 750 tonne Liebherr

Liebherr hands over the new LTM 1750-9.1 to Topkran

Moscow, Russia-based crane rental company Topkran, has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane. According to Liebherr, this is the first crane of this type in Russia. Topkran will primarily use the new crane in the construction of underground railways, as Liebherr said the 750 tonne capacity machine can lift tunnel boring machines in a single lift. Previously two cranes hoisting in tandem were required for this work, it claimed.
Topkran already has other Liebherr lattice boom cranes with lifting capacities of up to 750 tonnes in its fleet. However, according to Liebherr, it’s the mobility of the LTM 1750-9.1 that appealed to Topkran as this makes it particularly suitable for the construction of underground railways, where space is limited. The new addition will also be used for jobs in the petrochemical and metalworking industries.
Karen Mkhitaryan, Topkran co-proprietor, said, “We value quality very highly. That is why good partners are an important component for our future growth. That not only refers to the manufacturers of our cranes but also to finance and insurance companies.” According to Liebherr, in 2018 Topkran intends to increase its capacity with a 1,350 tonne Liebherr LR 11350 crawler crane.
Representatives of finance company Deutsche Leasing Vostok and insurance company VSK Strachovoi Dom also attended the handover of the crane. Liebherr said that Deutsche Leasing is an important partner to Liebherr customers for financing cranes. Insurance company VSK has around 400 offices throughout the country and is one of the largest insurers in Russia.
