To combat such theft, UK-based CanTrack Global, which uses telematics technology to protect and recover equipment, has been working in partnership with the police to help companies recover stolen machines. For instance, CanTrack has been helping to train officers how to the company’s products in their operations.

CanTrack’s Director of Investigations John Mussett said the current auditable recovery rate achieved by the company is 94%. So far this year, the firm’s customer recoveries have exceeded £1.2 million in value.

Mussett said, “We rely on intelligence from our units as well as police intelligence units allowing us to recover assets on behalf of our customers swiftly and effectively.”

CanTrack recently hosted the Essex Police Stolen Vehicle Intelligence Unit and the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service to discuss equipment theft, freight crime and the latest tactics used against these criminal activities.

“Working with Essex SVIU will allow us to continue our industry-leading asset tracking and recovery service, benefiting customers, the police and the wider community,” said Mussett.

At the recent PlantWorx Awards 2019, CanTrack won the Security Gold Award.
