UK-based equipment rental company Murphy Plant has taken delivery of 25 new JCB dumpers as part of its fleet renewal programme.
A total of 15 JCB 6T-I cabbed swivel-tip dumpers were delivered to the company, alongside 10 9T-I cabbed front-tip models.
Murphy said it selected the models in order to provide its operators with improved standards of health and wellbeing.
Mike Carpenter, Managing Director at Murphy Plant, said, “We have done a great deal of research into the fast-moving dumper market and the various options available. We have a duty of care to our operators and firmly believe that the JCB models are the right choice for Murphy.”
Powered by JCB’s 55kW Ecomax diesel engine, the machines use clean burn technology and meet EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Final emissions standards.
The new units all feature JCB’s SiTESAFE cabs with a front camera, reinforced frame, impact protective screen and a ROPS/FOPS Level II rating. In addition, a sequenced drive-inhibit system ensures operators are correctly seated and secure before driving.
Carpenter said, “The JCB SiTESAFE cab is the primary driver here, with the operator in a safer space throughout operation, while comfort and protection against the elements are also key concerns. We specified the reversing and forward-facing cameras to ensure the safety of all involved on site.”
Murphy Plant’s maintenance team uses JCB’s LiveLink telematics system to proactively maintain its equipment and enhance productivity on projects. The LiveLink system has also proven useful for security purposes.
Murphy now has a fleet of more than 100 JCB machines.
