Zeppelin Group has confirmed the acquisition at the start of this year of Baustellen-Verkehrs-Technik Gmbh (BVT), a 50 employee traffic management business with four locations in Germany.

Zeppelin is now 100% owner of BVT and will add it to its rental business unit alongside Zeppelin Rental. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

The acquisition will expand Zeppelin’s existing traffic safety business and plug geographical gaps in its branch network. BVT is a specialist in renting traffic management equipment for construction sites and roads, including autobahns, federal roads and inner cities. Its locations are in Barleben, Landsberg OT Queis (Halle-Leipzig), Genthin and Schorfheide (Brandenburg).

The business will continue to operate under its current name as an independent subsidiary of Zeppelin Rental, offering also the wider range of products and services from its parent company.

“The acquisition closes a gap in our network and now also offers construction and traffic safety to our customers in Brandenburg, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt,” said Arne Severin, Head of Zeppelin’s rental business usit and Chairman of Zeppelin Rental. “We are taking an important step in the nationwide expansion of our activities in this area.”

The range of traffic management services offered by Zeppelin Rentals includes computer-aided project planning, preparation of documents and official approval procedures, and the installation and assembly of the traffic control systems. Zeppelin Rental is a certified member of Fachverband Verkehrssicherung an Arbeitsstellen auf Straßen e.V. (FVAS), the German association for traffic safety.

Zeppelin Rental has more than 1,200 employees at over 135 locations in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
