26m launch from Bluelift

Bluelift will launch a 26 m working height tracked platform at the world’s largest tree care industry show TCI Expo 2015, in Pittsburgh, USA, taking place 12-14 November.

The SA26 conforms to industry demands for a platform as compact and light as possible, but with good working height, outreach and payload, said Bluelift. Based on the Italian manufacturer's SA22, the SA26 is aimed at the tree care, facility management and rental market.

It features a dual sigma type riser, four-section telescopic boom and articulated jib offering an unrestricted 26 m working height. The overall weight of 3350 kg, which is 360 kg more compared to the SA22. Outreach is 14.5 m outreach with operator in basket, and with 250 kg in basket the machine has an 11 m reach.

The dual riser design gives an up and over height of 9.5 m and allows the unit to work flush with walls, which at full outreach is from a height of 3 m to about 12 m.

Overall width is 990 mm and a telescoping undercarriage with independent track system allows this to be extended to 1.2m, improving stability when travelling on uneven ground, without sacrificing the machine’s ability to pass through doorways and narrow openings.

The SA26 is 1.98 m high in transport mode and 5.58 m long – 4.91 m with platform removed and only 380 mm longer of SA22 model

As on all Bluelift line, the 160° rotating basket is removable thanks to a quickly and free-tools system and it could be easily driven by the standard doorway using the 4 wheels under the basket. Following the new regulations, a micro switch reads if the basket is installed correctly on support and so permits the lifting movements.

Heavy duty lifting eyes enable the platform to be safely lifted by crane when in the closed position, and a further four eyes are for securing the platform on a trailer/truck and avoids damage.

The multi-position outriggers stabilise in an area of 4.5 m, 3.7 m, 2.7 m without losing maximum outreach. The optional ‘asymmetric stability system’ configures the position of outriggers on each side of the machine. The system automatically adjusts the working diagram giving the max allowable performance in that area.

The new model doesn’t require a 2-3 cylinder diesel engine. The standard SA26 is powered by a Honda 15HP engine and electric motor, giving unlimited use of the platform indoor and outdoor. Alternatively the lift could be powered by a single cylinder diesel engine and/or Lithium ion-battery pack.
