Seaway Heavy Lifting in the Netherlands has launched its new 5,000 tonne capacity crane vessel, the HLV Oleg Strashnov.
A unique feature of the vessel, said the company, is its innovative hull shape, enabling a transit speed of 14 knots, combined with an exceptional performance for a monohull design. A patent is pending for the new hull shape.
"Lift heights of 100 m for the 5,000 metric tonne main hook and 132 m for the 800 metric tonne auxiliary hook enables the vessel to undertake an impressive range of projects from dual hook upending of large jackets to heavy deck installations," said a company spokesman.
The installed DP3 system also allows the vessel to install large and heavy subsea structures, TLP/Spar foundations and topsides, added Seaway.
