A-Plant in multi-million telehandler spend

09 October 2014

A-Plant has taken delivery of a number of new Manitou telehandlers, offering lifting heights ranging from 6 m to 18 m, as part of fleet expansion plans for 2014.

The UK rental company has invested £3 million (€3.8 million) in the new telehandler purchase, with units delivered to A-Plant service centres across the country.

Andrew Winlow, director of purchasing and fleet management at A-Plant, said, “The great advantage of the new Manitou telehandlers is their compact design, allowing them to be used on construction sites with restricted room for manoeuvre, such as inner city developments. The larger models we have purchased have compact stabilisers, which always remain within the working width of the machine whatever the position. This investment has allowed us to update and enhance our telehandler fleet and offer our customers the latest models available with compliance to Stage IIIB/Tier 4 regulations.”

Manitou’s marketing manager Paul Bidwell added, “The new additions to A-Plant’s fleet offer significantly greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions, so can help organisations who are seeking to lower their carbon footprint.”

A-Plant spent more than £100 million on fleet investment in 2013. It is anticipated that similar figures will be reached this year. The company offers a fleet of 110,000 items of equipment available to hire.
