AEM announces ConExpo Workforce Solutions Area

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) have announced that a Workforce Solutions Area is be created at the 2020 ConExpo construction show, to help manufacturers engage with ”employees of the future”.

Julie Davis, AEM director of workforce development, said: “It’s critical for the equipment manufacturing industry and the construction market it serves to do what it takes to engage the workforce of tomorrow to consider embarking on a career in the skilled trades.”

The North American-based trade association said the area would allow the construction show’s attendees, exhibitors, association members, job seekers and local students to try out various trades on the show floor. 

“Our Workforce Solutions Area will provide a uniquely valuable opportunity to learn how to make a memorable connection with young people by tapping into kinaesthetic learning methods that excite a hands-on workforce.”

According to the AEM, participants would also be able to learn about the industry and best practice at what will be an interactive workforce pavilion.

In addition, the association said calling for Festival Ground exhibitors to get involved in what it calls a Passport Program, that aims to help them improve workforce development techniques and brand awareness, while promoting skilled trades.

The ConExpo 2020 construction show will held in Las Vegas, USA, in March of next year.
