Lestrange boasts more than 25 years’ experience in the subsea industry and will lead Ashtead’s UK sales and technical team to drive growth and support the company, while it aims to innovate against a low oil price environment.

Ashtead’s new man will be based in Aberdeen, joining from HCS Control Systems where he held the position of CEO, developing the business as a service-led subsea manufacturing company, and expanding its customer base locally and internationally.

Lestrange was previously a founding partner of Frontrow Energy Partners and held a number of senior and technical positions at Expro Group, including head of subsea.

Allan Pirie, CEO of Ashtead, said, “Brett’s appointment further strengthens the Aberdeen-based team as the business continues to expand its service offering to support our customers’ ever more complex challenges.

“Brett brings a wealth of engineering expertise and a proven track-record in delivering customer focussed cost effective solutions which is our key goal.”

Commenting on his appointment, Lestrange said, “Ashtead is known for delivering expertise to meet the exact needs of its customers in an increasingly challenging market.

“The company is well positioned to build on its heritage with innovative thinking, cutting-edge technology and services. I am pleased to be joining such an experienced and knowledgeable team and I look forward to playing a role in its future successes.”
