BBA Pumps has introduced a new piston pump for wellpoint dewatering applications. The PT150 is said to offer a 25% saving on engine oil as well as improved hydraulics.

The Netherlands-based manufacturer claimed the new pump was both low cost and environmentally friendly. BBA said the PT150 was up to 14% more efficient, thanks to a new direct drive design and improved hydraulic characteristics, resulting in better suction capabilities, more pump flow and a lower fuel consumption.

It said the PT150 also came with BBA’s DriveOn technology, providing improved working conditions during maintenance, while the engine service interval has been extended up to 1500 running hours (instead of 500 for the standard engines)

The unit is also said to offer reduced emissions and noise pollution, with the PT150 operating at a sound level of just 48 dB(A) at 10 m.
The PT150 also comes with fittings for a Diesel Particulate Filter/Oxidation Catalyst.
