Big movers for the USA

18 March 2008

Available in North America, Multiquip's recently-launched InstaPrime pumps are designed for moving large quantities of water in a wide range of applications, including dewatering, sludge, sewer-by-pass and well-point projects.

Pumping capacities are up to 5000 gallons/min (19000 l/min) and sizes are in the 6 to 12 in (150-300 mm) range.

California-based Multiquip says the pumps feature innovations designed to make them more reliable, easier to service, and capable of long run times with economical fuel consumption. A new, patented screw-type impeller increases flow with the same horsepower as many competitive models, says the company, and the pumps “eliminate the need for wear parts”. Each model is fitted with a 150 gallon (570 l) capacity fuel tank.

Power is provided by Deutz diesel engines and pumping heads of up to 143 ft (43 m) are possible, with 30 ft (9 m) of lift developed in just 30 seconds. Each will handle solids up to 3,6 inches (91 mm). Pictured is the MP2000 version.
