Blackwood Engineering expands in UK

Blackwood Engineering, the UK-based supplier of castings and counterweights for access equipment and telehandlers, has acquired a second location in the UK to help further its growth plans.

Blackwood Engineering purchased the five-acre Rising Sun Industrial Estate located in Blaina, South Wales, in order to develop new products and services, as well as increase the company’s output while producing larger and more complex castings and counterweights, the company said.

Commercial Director Dominic Connor said, “We are delighted to secure the acquisition of the Blaina site to support our growing business; we have been searching for an additional site near our existing UK site for a few years. The new site will help us continue to meet our customer requirements now and to support the future growth. It will provide us the facilities we need to continue providing high quality castings and counterweights, plus the value-added activities that helps to set us apart from our competitors.”

Blackwood Engineering was founded in 1946 and has locations around the globe. Read more about the company in this exclusive interview with ALH.
