Cat 340F makes its Bauma bow

13 April 2016

Caterpillar has unveiled its prototype 340F UHD model demolition excavator at Bauma – its second demolition product in recent months.

The company launched its 336F demolition boom in the final quarter of 2015, but this week’s construction exhibition in Munich marks the first appearance of the 340F, which can reach up to 22 m (72 ft).

The product was manufactured in Japan, where Caterpillar has a long history of working with demolition contractors.

Demolition & Recycling International magazine caught up with product application specialist Cedric Masson at Bauma to find out more about the new product.
