Avant Tecno (UK), the Norfolk-based subsidiary of Finnish compact wheeled tool carrier and access platform specialist Avant Tecno, has announced the appointment of Raimo Ala-Korpi as its new managing director.

He replaces Jukka Vaattovaara, who the company said would still have some input in the important UK market, but would now be spending much more time on Avant’s global activities.

Prior to joining Avant, Mr Ala-Korpi worked for a regional government agency in Finland for seven years.

He said, "I am delighted to be given the opportunity to build on the great work carried out by Jukka over the last few years which has resulted in the UK becoming one of Avant's strongest markets.

“In particular, I am keen to extend both the dealer and Avant Hire networks to ensure we offer the very best support for our growing range of products covering access platforms, demolition machines and, of course, the compact loaders."
