To meet the challenge of scaling steep slopes whilst compacting them, Sakai has launched its CV550 series compactor. With a centrifugal force output of over 50000 lb (22700 kg), the triangular track drive system can climb 45 slopes during compaction, claims the US-based company.

Powered by water-cooled, 126 kw turbocharged Isuzu diesel engine, the compactor comes in two configurations: the CV550D with a smooth drum for semi-cohesive soils and the CV550T padfoot drum for cohesive soils. A failsafe braking system, ROPS and seat belts are fitted as standard.
