Construction support services company Leedale in the UK has taken delivery of a pair of new Mercedes trucks mounted with Palfinger muck away cranes.

The Palfinger Epsilon M125L Classic cranes are fitted with Kinshofer clamshell buckets. The 8 x 4 Mercedes Arocs trucks are 3240Ks with 10.7 litre straight six engines producing 290 kW, driving via a 12 speed Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated manual gearbox. The trucks’ steel Loadmaster bodies are by Thompson.

They have the MirrorCam system of cameras instead of conventional external rear view mirrors. Safety equipment includes a 360 degree camera and side-scanning system to protect vulnerable road users, plus LED strobe lighting front and rear, and an LED beacon bar on the roof.

Leedale, based in Derbyshire in the English Midlands, operates 50 trucks, including tipper-grabs and flat beds with cranes, plus tippers and sweepers. Set up in 1989 Leedale offers muckaway, aggregates, demolition and general haulage, waste management, and vehicle and plant hire.
