UK pump manufacturer and rental company Selwood has plans to grow in 2016, with expansion including new partners in the UK, South America and mainland Europe.

Speaking during Bauma, director of marketing Tony Killick told IRN that the company currently had around 36 distributors in 40 countries around the world.

“We plan to add two more rental outlets in strategic locations in the UK this year, while expansion is also underway in Brazil, Chile and Latvia with new distributors and partners,” he said.

“We are seeing a global shift from capital sales into rental, and this fits with our equipment - which is primarily designed for rental – and our strategy.”

Selwood celebrates 70 years of operation in 2016, and boasts a pump fleet of over 5000 units ranging in size from 5in (127mm) to 18in (457mm) and either electric submersible and hydraulic submersible pumps, all with a choice of diesel or electric motors.

The latest new launch from the company is the S150M – a new medium-head pump suitable for multiple uses including sewage and sewer bypass and over-pumping, waste and wastewater applications, long distance water transfer and dewatering for sites and quarries.

Featuring Selwood’s Selfprime automatic self-priming technology, the manufacturer said the new pump would be available through its distribution network for sale and rental around the world.

Taking place in Munich, Germany, from 11 to 17 April, Bauma is the largest construction equipment exhibition in the world.
