Berlin Fire Service in Germany has taken delivery of a 50 tonne capacity Liebherr LTM 1050-3.1 fire service crane.

The 3-axle all terrain comes standard with a 38 m telescopic boom and weighs 36 tonnes full equipped. It can travel carrying 4.4 tonnes of ballast.

The Berlin Fire Service selected additional equipment for recovery and towing operations. Mounted on the rear of the vehicle is a recovery winch with a tractive force of 80 kN, a continuous capstan and remote control. Customised electronics includes all-round identification lights, two-tone siren, adjustable operational searchlights and a reversing camera. Two special equipment boxes for stowing technical fire-fighting equipment are also attached to the crane.

On the front of the vehicle is a 30 tonne transverse load element, which can be extended to 3.5 m for the recovery, for example, of an overturned truck.
